X.com is the domain name of a global social media platform formerly known as Twitter, which was rebranded by Elon Musk to become an "everything app". The domain was also the name of an online bank founded by Musk in 1999, which merged to become PayPal, but the X.com domain was later reacquired by Musk in 2017 to expedite his vision for the "everything app"
